Sales Tax Information
Last updated: July 18, 2026
1. Overview
Express Tools (420 Industrial Blvd, Nash TX 75569) is required by law to collect and remit sales tax in states where we have established a tax nexus. Tax is calculated at checkout based on the destination address of your order and the applicable state and local tax rates in effect at the time of purchase.
If no sales tax is charged on your order, it does not necessarily mean your purchase is exempt from tax. You may be required to self-report and pay use tax directly to your state tax authority. Please consult your tax advisor if you are unsure of your obligations.
2. Our Tax Nexus
Express Tools has a physical presence nexus in the following state, where we are registered to collect and remit sales tax:
Texas
Physical presence nexus — our business is headquartered at 420 Industrial Blvd, Nash TX 75569. Texas state and applicable local sales tax will be charged on all taxable orders shipping to Texas addresses.
We collect sales tax where required by law. If we establish nexus in additional states (for example, through economic nexus thresholds), this page will be updated to reflect any newly applicable states. Effective dates will be noted at the top of this page.
3. How Sales Tax Is Calculated
- Tax is calculated on the destination address you provide at checkout.
- The rate applied reflects the combination of state + county + city + special district rates in effect at the time of the order.
- Sales tax applies to the product subtotal. Shipping charges may also be taxable depending on state law.
- The exact tax amount is displayed before you confirm your order.
- Tax rates are subject to change — we apply the current statutory rate at the time your order is placed.
4. Tax-Exempt Orders
Government, Non-Profit & Resale Exemptions
If your organization is exempt from sales tax (e.g., government agency, qualifying non-profit, or licensed reseller with a valid resale certificate), please contact us before placing your order. We cannot retroactively remove sales tax from completed orders.
To claim a tax exemption, email legal@expresstools.com with your exemption certificate or resale number before placing your order. We will verify your exemption and configure your account accordingly.
5. Tax on Returns and Refunds
When you return an eligible item and receive a refund, any sales tax originally collected will be included in your refund. Tax refunds are subject to the same processing timeline as product refunds (5–10 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item). See our Returns Policy for full details.
